The Toyota Tundra is built to work hard — but the factory halogen headlights on most 2014–2023 trims don't keep up. Dim, yellowish, and not enough light when you're towing at night or hauling gear on unlit back roads.
The Tundra upgrade is one of the simplest of any truck — it uses a single H4 (9003/HB2) dual-beam bulb that handles both low and high beam in one. Just one pair covers your entire headlight upgrade.

|---|---|---|
| Lumens | 10,000LM/pair | 5,000LM/pair |
| Power | 50W/bulb | 23W/bulb |

| Body | 71mm × 24.3mm | 63mm × 30mm (1:1 halogen) |

Our recommendation: If you tow, haul, or drive on unlit roads regularly — go with the V7S. For a clean, reliable daily-driver upgrade, the V4S is the smart choice.
How to Install LED Headlights on a Toyota Tundra
No mechanic needed. No tools required. The Tundra has a spacious engine bay — this is one of the easiest LED swaps you'll do.
1. Pop the hood and locate the headlight housing. The back of the headlight assembly is clearly visible on both sides. No need to remove the battery or air intake.
2. Remove the dust cap. Twist the round dust cap counterclockwise and pull it off to expose the bulb.
3. Remove the old halogen bulb. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise (about a quarter turn) and pull it straight out. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Install the LED bulb. Plug the Driveon LED bulb into the connector. Insert it into the housing and twist clockwise to lock it in. Position the LED chips at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock (horizontal) for the correct beam pattern.
5. Test before closing up. Turn on your headlights. Aim at a wall or garage door — you should see a sharp, flat cutoff line on low beam with no glare above it.
6. Repeat for the other side.
Total time: 15–20 minutes for both sides.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really only need one pair of bulbs?
Yes. The Tundra uses an H4 dual-beam bulb that handles both low and high beam via internal filaments. One pair of Driveon H4 LED bulbs replaces everything — no separate low/high bulb needed.
Will LED headlights throw error codes on my Tundra?
No. Toyotas are very LED-friendly — they don't monitor bulb wattage the way Ford or European trucks do. Both Summit and Coast are plug-and-play, no flickering, no warnings.
I have a 2014–2021 Platinum / 1794 Edition / TRD Pro — do I have halogen or LED?
2014–2021 Platinum and 1794 Edition have LED accent strips for the daytime running lights, but the main H4 headlights are still halogen — fully upgradeable. The 2nd gen (2014–2021) is all halogen across every trim.
I have a 2022–2023 Platinum / 1794 / TRD Pro — can I upgrade?
No. On the 3rd gen Tundra (2022+), only the base SR and SR5 trims have halogen. Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone are factory LED (sealed, not replaceable).
I have a 2024+ Tundra — what about me?
The 2024 Tundra SR5 appears to have shifted to factory LED standard per dealer spec sheets. Base SR may still be halogen depending on configuration — check your truck visually. If your lights are yellowish-warm with no sharp cutoff, you're halogen and can use the H4 bundle above.
What about the fog lights?
Tundra fog lights use H11 on both 2014–2021 and 2022–2023 models. Add a pair of V7S/Coast H11 for matching LED fogs.
Are LED headlights legal on the Tundra?
Yes. LED replacement bulbs are legal for on-road use as long as they produce a proper beam pattern with a sharp cutoff line.
How long do LED headlights last?
Both Coast and Summit are rated for 50,000+ hours — you'll sell the truck before the bulbs die.
