Best LED Headlights for Honda Accord (2008–2024): Buyer's Guide

Configuration A — 2008–2012 Accord Sedan (4-Door)

Who this fits: Sedan: LX, LX-P, EX, EX-L, LX-S (8th gen, 4-door body style)

Identifier: 8th gen Accord Sedan. Uses 9006 for low beam — distinct from the Coupe which uses H11. Check body style before ordering. V6 Sedan may have optional HID (D2S) on top trims — verify visually.

Who this fits: LX, LX-S, Sport, EX, EX-L (sedan and coupe use same bulbs). Touring (2013–2017) and Accord Hybrid (2014–2015) have factory LED twin-lens projector headlights — not covered by this guide.

Identifier: 9th gen. Best halogen generation for a dramatic LED upgrade. Fog light is H8 (35W), not H11 — H8 shares the same physical base, so our H11 LED bulbs fit the H8 fog socket. 2016–2017 refresh switched fog lights to integrated LED (not replaceable).

Configuration D — 2018–2022 Accord (10th Gen, Halogen High Beam)

Who this fits: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Hybrid (all have LED low beam + halogen 9005 high beam). Touring is fully LED. 2021–2022 Sport, EX-L, Touring are also fully LED — only 2021–2022 LX still has a halogen high beam.

Identifier: 10th gen Accord uses a hybrid headlight: factory LED low beam + halogen 9005 high beam. Only the high beam can be upgraded. The 9005 high also serves as DRL at reduced voltage on some trims — some LED bulbs flicker in DRL mode; the Summit's CANBUS decoder handles this cleanly.

How to Install LED Headlights on a Honda Accord

No mechanic needed. No tools required.

1. Pop the hood and locate the headlight housing. The back of the headlight assembly is visible on both sides of the engine bay.

2. Remove the dust cap. Twist the round dust cap counterclockwise and pull it off to expose the bulb.

3. Remove the old halogen bulb. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise (about a quarter turn) and pull it straight out. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Install the LED bulb. Plug the Driveon LED bulb into the connector. Insert it into the housing and twist clockwise to lock it in. Position the LED chips at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock (horizontal) for the correct beam pattern.

5. Test before closing up. Turn on your headlights. Aim at a wall or garage door — you should see a sharp, flat cutoff line on low beam with no glare above it.

6. Repeat for the other side.

Total time: 15–20 minutes for both sides.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Accord is a 2008–2012 — do I need 9006 or H11?

Depends on body style: - Sedan (4-door) → 9006 low beam (Configuration A) - Coupe (2-door) → H11 low beam (Configuration B)

Both share 9005 high beam and H11 fog lights.

I have a 2013–2017 Touring or Hybrid — can I upgrade?

No. The Touring trim (all 2013–2017 years) and the 2014–2015 Accord Hybrid/Plug-in Hybrid came with factory LED twin-lens projector headlights. These are sealed LED modules — not bulb-replaceable.

Will LED headlights throw error codes on my Accord?

Hondas are generally LED-friendly — no dashboard warnings on most models. One thing to note: on 2018–2022 Accord, the 9005 high beam also serves as the daytime running light (DRL) at reduced voltage. Some LED bulbs can flicker in DRL mode. The V7S has a built-in CANBUS decoder that handles this cleanly. The V4S works without issues on most Accords but may need an external decoder harness if DRL flicker appears.

My Accord is a 2018–2022 — what can I upgrade?

The high beam (9005) — and only if your trim still has a halogen high beam: - 2018–2020: LX, Sport, EX-L have halogen 9005 high beams (upgradeable). Touring is fully LED. - 2021–2022: Only LX still has halogen 9005. Sport, EX-L, Touring are all fully LED.

Low beams and fog lights are sealed factory LED — not replaceable.
