How to install (60 seconds)
- Pop off the lens cover. Use your fingernail, a credit card edge, or a small flathead. Gentle pry — lenses snap back in easily.
- Pull out the old bulb. Festoon bulbs sit between two spring contacts. Pull straight out (no twisting).
- Insert the Driveon LED. Push the LED into the spring contacts. LEDs are polarity-sensitive — if it doesn't light up, flip it 180° and re-insert.
- Test, then snap the cover back. Turn on the light to verify, then click the lens cover into place. Done — total time 60 seconds per bulb.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 211-2 the same as 578?
Yes — same 41-42mm festoon, different brand catalogs (Bosch 211-2 vs Sylvania 578). Same bulb, our LED replaces both 1:1.
Why does the industry call it both 41mm and 42mm?
Manufacturing tolerances. The actual bulb is roughly 41-42mm end-cap to end-cap, and different parts catalogs round it differently. The socket has spring contacts that accommodate either.
Will this fit my truck's dome light?
If you drive a Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado/Tahoe, GMC Sierra/Yukon, Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Sequoia, or similar full-size truck/SUV — most likely yes. Check the verified fitment table above for your specific year.
